If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridelth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. James 1:25 (KJV)
Professing to be Christian in today’s society is not something that is seen as good character. There was a time when a professed Christian was respected for their beliefs. However, as the years have gone by, so many people were seeing the total opposite behavior from those who claimed to be walking life as a disciple of Christ. The legalism of religion became prominent and the relationship was pushed to the side. Christians no longer walked in a relationship with Christ, but rather walked in a relationship with the law.
There is a saying that has been around a long time that says, “let your actions portray your words.” Meaning if you are going to say you love like Jesus, then you mustn’t turn away from those who are lost and in need of encouragement. If you are professing to be a Christian, then you mustn’t be judging others for their lives or actions.
We cannot say we are Christians and then turn to our neighbor and speak in a manner that does not bring God glory. This only leads to a heart of vain belief.
LadyBug walk your walk with Jesus in a way that others will see God’s goodness and love in your actions and hear it in your words.
Let us be who we say we are and watch how we speak.
Much Love,
