Joy Mathis Chadwick

Although Joy Mathis Chadwick wears many hats, as all women do, the hat she wears most proudly is that of the daughter of the King. One of her most prized tangible possessions, other than her Bible, is the large collection of handwritten letters from her mother that spanned almost thirty years of inspiration and advice. Joy knew that her love for writing was obviously gifted to her by her mother (who could make her words come alive off the page), although that calling on her life didn’t manifest itself until her retirement in 2016. Joy has stated that her goal in writing is to share with her readers the story of God’s love, redemption, mercy and grace extended to her through the good times, as well as the times of poor choices in her life. Her desire is to honor the Lord with words from her heart. Along with inspiration from God, Joy is also fueled by coffee and comfort food as she pens her collections of lifetime memories, interspersed with humor, Christian analogies, and scripture. Her first and current writing endeavor is her Facebook blog, “For Such A Time As This”.

Joy is married to the love of her life, who she frequently refers to as “My Stanley”. She is the proud mom of two sons and their wives, and the “granny” of Benny The Amazing Wonder Boy. When she retired several years ago from her vocation as a nurse, she fully expected to sit on the back porch and watch the cattle graze, with a possible trip or two to her happy place, the beach. However, God had other plans and has placed a calling on her life to write. Joy identifies with Abraham’s wife, Sarah, whose life also changed drastically in her later years. Joy invites you to view her world as told through the musings of a not-yet-ready-for-the-rocker granny
