Don’t Be Surprised

In the moments of disparity it can be difficult to remember how God is ever faithful.  I believe the issue is not God’s faithfulness, it is what we learn in our today’s messages.  No one speaks about suffering but the Word of God tells us in John 16:33 (NIV) “ I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Suffering and trials are a part of this world because of sin, the very sin that started in the Garden of Eden and has carried down through generations after generations.  But we don’t have to focus on the suffering but the victory that comes during and after the suffering and trials.  What do we need to do? During those times that is when it is important to have the Word of God in our heart.  As David said in the Psalms, “Thy word have I hid in my heart so that I may not sin against thee.”  That is the key, “Not sinning against God.”  By speaking unbelief, doubt, and failure during those crucial moments in our life.  God does not expect us to act as if we are not hurting, angry, feeling disparity, sick, etc, but He do expect us to stand on Faith and have confidence in the Almighty God, our Lord and Savior, He who defeated  Death and Hell, rising with all power in His Hands, He who sits on the right hand of the Father interceding for us.  Jesus is cheering us on and He gave us His Spirit to lead and guide us and His Word lets us know that we are More than Conquerors, Victorious, and will not be defeated.

Don’t be surprised when various trials come upon you, James 1:2-4.  Just remember Greater is He that is in you, then he that is in the World, I John 4:4.
