And I will ask the Father and he shall give you another Helper, to be with you forever. John 14:16 (ESV)

How powerful is this verse? This is when we know that we are given the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us as we walk out our salvation.

But what really touches me, is that Jesus is praying this for us! Jesus is professing that we WILL have a helper with us for always. That right there is the most important bite of meat from this verse. I mean have you ever realized that this coming from Jesus’ lips to God’s ear. It wasn’t a long-winded, lengthy prayer, but oh it is effective. Not only is it a prayer, but it is also a promise. It is a promise that is kept. Oh happy day, when we know that we are walking with the Spirit of God within us!
The King James Version uses the word “abide.” When we hear abide, we understand that it is something that is “within” something. What a glorious reminder! The Helper is within us for all times. Not just when we are wearing the right clothes or driving the right car, He is with us ALWAYS! Hallelujah!

LadyBug we should be dancing a happy dance to know that we have the most perfect and gracious Helper within us. We don’t have to wait for Him to decide to be there for us, He is already there.

Let us walk in the knowledge that we are not alone and not forsaken.
