Unforgettable Styles for Fall 2022

I can hardly believe that fall is here already. This year has just flown by and continues to keep flying. I am not complaining though because fall is one of my favorite seasons to dress for. There is something wonderful about snuggly sweaters, Moto jackets, boots and scarves. I will tell you a little secret about me. Moto jackets are the one thing that I can see and always feel that I need. The saddest part about it is I live in Florida and cannot even wear them but maybe a few weeks each year. So I have a few lonely but super fun and cute Moto jackets in my closet waiting for their moment to shine.

What is your favorite article of clothing to wear for fall?

Well, as you know, each season brings along new trends to explore. For the rest of this article, I will share with you some of the popular trends you can look forward to for fall.

White Tank & Blue Jeans

I am not sure why the fashion designers have decided to do white tanks and blue jeans as a style for fall but here it is. Don’t get me wrong, I love jeans. I probably wear them more than anything else. But why a white tank top with it? I guess this way it will be easy to pull on a cardigan or sweater when you start getting cold right?! Those are my practical thoughts on it. Will I wear it? Yes, but most likely spruced up with a jacket or something fun and colorful.

Western Vibes

You have probably noticed this trend starting to sneak into stores over the past few months. The whole cowboy/cowgirl look is now for everyone whether you are a horse riding cowgirl or not. This trend involves cowboy boots, hats, belts and all sorts of western flair that you can think of. I was resisting it for a while when I started to see it but I have seen some really cute pink cowgirl boots that I think I need. Hemlines to the Floor

Another new trend for the season are dresses with their hemlines touching all the way to the floor. This means that maxi dresses are probably going to be a little longer than they have been for the past few years. This trend is going to be a little more difficult for most people to pull off. Ladies that are petite, are going to be making alterations to their dresses or will just avoid this trend all together. Alterations can add up to being quite costly. Ladies who are taller than average, like myself, will find that their hemlines still are not touching the floor. I am okay with that really, because the floor is normally dirty and I don’t enjoy getting my clothes dirty from sweeping across the floor.

Leather Jackets

I was honestly surprised to see leather jackets making a come back. I really like leather jackets because their quality is 100 times better than that of other jackets. They last so much longer than faux leather too. I was surprised though because of the big vegan movement that has gone on over the past several years. I have a feeling we will be seeing some crazy news over this issue in the coming months. However, you will be seeing more jackets of all styles in real leather this season. They range from the 100’s and upwards in price. They are great investment in warmth and longevity though as far as fashion goes though.

Pastel Shades

This was another shocker for me … pastels in fall?! Who would have thought it. I just do not feel like they mix. To me it is like the sound of finger nails on the chalk board mixing pastels into fall. We will see how many people actually fall for this trend.

Over the Knee Boots

Booties are no longer the hot trend, it is now full force boots that reach over the knees. I love the way this style looks however I have not had the best luck finding much that work well for me. This is such a tricky fashion option because you have to practically find boots that are also going to fit snug as skinny jeans on you. If they are not that tight, they will literally fall down as you are walking and look dumb. I am speaking from experience. I found a pair a few years back and was so excited but wearing them was a chore. They fit great on my feet but were loose on my legs and knees and would fall down past my knees all the time. There are some tricks you can do with rubber bands to help keep them up but those can also be a little too tight and cut off blood circulation. Do you have any funny boot stories?

Knee Length Skirts

Here is one we can all celebrate about … no more mini skirts! It is now popular to pull out those skirts in our closets that were popular about 10 or so years back … the ones that hit knee length and below. I have always felt a little more comfortable in this style of skirt. There is a less chance of things being seen that do not need to be seen, if you know what I mean. I have seen some really cute knee length skirts in the stores lately so keep your eyes open and enjoy shopping for fall.

Ladies, here you have it. The hottest latest and greatest trends to hit the shelves and racks for fall. Let us know what you are most excited to wear this fall. I promise to give over the knee boots another try and I may even get myself a leather Moto jacket.
