Some Trust In Chariots

You may remember the old song based on Psalm 20:7. “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God”. As a kid I would always imagine a bunch of chariots running wild without drivers. lol

Maybe a modern version would say something like “Some trust in the government, some trust in their education, some trust in their friends and some trust in their own ability to produce wealth, but we will focus on Jesus and He will provide for us like He always has”.

With inflation and gas barely coming down from an all-time high it’s super tempting to be discouraged and come out with predictions of the worst possible scenario where we will most surely all be homeless, foodless, jobless, carless and earthless within the next 20 years.

We may have been betrayed by our own government, lost our ability to produce wealth, shafted by trusted friends or our educational achievements may have not taken us where we had hoped.

It’s time to stop trusting in those chariots and horses. We will most likely always be disappointed.

We may also be disappointed when God does not do what we want Him to do and in the timing we want him to do it. But more than anyone else that we know, He is the one who cares and loves us the most and has proven Himself faithful and trustworthy over and over again.

Begin thanking Him for what He has done and what He is going to do and see how your perspective changes!

Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil His good purpose.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Philippians 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.
