Finding Your Tribe

Months ago, I prayed for friends – people I connected with and felt comfortable with. Finding my tribe is something I have been trying to do for years. You know when you find them – they make you smile and they let you cry. They encourage and they challenge.

Now I am not saying I don’t have friends, but since the death of my best friend in 1992, I have not opened my heart for a true friendship that will stand the test of time. My bestie, Stacy, will tell you she forced herself on me (LOL) and I finally let her in. Most people don’t want to put that kind of time into being friends with me, however, and I do not blame them.

RISE-ing Up & Finding Your Tribe

Fast forward to 2019 and you will find a woman who is searching for not only her true self, but her tribe. I took some big steps in late 2019, including attending a business conference (RISE) by myself. This conference has changed my life in so many ways, but one of the most significant ways is the tribe(s) of women I have connected with.

Connecting Heart and Mind

You may think you cannot truly connect with people you have never met in real life, but I am here to say you are wrong. I have connected with two groups of women – both in business groups – who understand what I go through as an entrepreneur.

One group is a Christian focused group and the leader pours herself into the women in this group. Tamra is the one who helped me voice my passion project and I can’t thank her enough for her love and support. I met her through RISE and know it was God-ordained.

My other tribe is a mastermind group that I learned about on Facebook. I connected with Abby through RISE and watched all the free Zoom calls and videos I could find. She has a wonderful way of coaching that really speaks to me. When I joined her group, I had no idea that the ladies I connected with would become my tribe. My besties. People who know and understand what I am going through.

I can truly say for the first time in over 25 years I have people. They may not live close to me, but I know if I needed them, they would be there. The relationships created through RISE are real and they are something I will always treasure. Distance doesn’t keep you from making friends! It’s time to begin finding your tribe!
