30 Days of Gratitude

Psalm 127:3, ‘Don’t you see that children are God’s best gift? the fruit of the womb His generous legacy? Like a warrior’s fistful of arrows are the children of a vigorous youth. Oh, how blessed are you parents with your quivers full of children! Your enemies don’t stand a chance against you; you’ll sweep them right off your doorstep (MSG).’

Day 20 * Just Grateful: Warmly or deeply appreciative of kindnesses or benefits received; indebted and beholden

I Timothy 5:4, ‘But if they have children or grandchildren at home, then it is only proper to let them provide for the ones who raised them when they were children, for kindness begins at home and it pleases God (TPT).’ God, there is a really special little boy who has a birthday today. He is the firstborn of my grandchildren, and while each of these grandchildren are so special, so unique, so perfectly and evenly cherished in my heart, there is a minute detail that sets him apart from the other nine…He was first! He grew me as a person and a gramma; he taught me how to love the other nine. He was the first one to hold my heart in his hands and he taught me how to balance the other nine hearts around his as they arrived in my scene. He has had the longest amount of time to know my faults as his gamma, to love me anyway, but patient enough to help me see life through his eyes. And he has had a tough job, catching the balls life and I have pitched at him. He has earned the right to be honorably set apart. God, he was the first one who made me aware of the expression of favor and love You have for Your children by allowing us to grow another generation with hearts after You. Children are Your expression of faith in us. Help us be worthy, o God, of Your trust; worthy of these children and grandchildren You bestow upon us. God bless our children, our grandchildren; be apparent in their worlds while everything else is distorted and misconfigured. And God, please bless this young man on his birthday today.
‘Grandparents have the crowning glory of life: grandchildren! And it is only proper for children to take pride in their parents (Proverbs 17:6 – TPT).’
