30 Days with THE WORD
January 22, 2021

John 1:1-2, ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. He (the Word) was in the beginning with God (NKJV).’

Did you know there is not one thing in your life that the Lord won’t use for your good? We talked yesterday about how there isn’t anything that hasn’t first been filtered through the Father’s fist before it touches us. Nothing. There’s no surprise He isn’t aware of. No post-dated note; no detail that got lost in translation or delayed in transport; no AHA moment He missed; nothing that slid past Him. He isn’t wringing His hands trying to configure a solution or hoping One of the Trinity has a better idea than He’s been able to come up with. Furthermore, no matter what has occurred in your life and mine; no matter what crazy choices we have made or plans of His we have unmade; no matter, it is the intention of your Father’s heart that He takes it and turns it for our good. If we allow Him to.
Now, He isn’t going to override our insistence; He won’t back us into a corner and force our hand; He will never give you or me an ultimatum. But, when we back our own selves into nasty corners, and when we eventually grow hoarse declaring our own idiosyncrasies, He will be there for damage control and cleanup.
However, you have an enemy who will whisper a lie into your being, who will take every positive you know and turn it negative, who will cause you to doubt every Word that your Father has spoken over you. And He won’t be forward about it. He intends to catch you off your game; he intends to plant doubt in your garden so the beautiful that is growing there will be choked out by the weeds, wither and die. And if that doesn’t work, he will abscond with your soul, and sell it to—not the highest bidder because you’re not worth that much to him—to the lowest bidder: the porn hub or the drug lord or the sex goddess or the booze-mobile or the work slave or the food master or the worth meter; any of those will do. And when He has messed you up just that good, you can be assured, you have One Who died to buy you back, and He will rewrite your story to make it His-story. There is no greater love story ever than that!

Genesis 50:19-20, ‘But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives (NIV).”’
