EMERGE! ‘Bloom Where You Are Planted’

A Season to Plant: Seeds That Separate

March 7th, 2022

Luke 8:15, ‘The seed that fell into good, fertile soil represents those lovers of truth who hear it deep within their hearts. They respond by clinging to the Word, keeping it clear as they endure all things in faith. This is the seed that will one day bear much fruit in their lives.’ (TPT)

No one is more intentional about planting than Jesus. In fact, like a seed, He, Himself, was planted, buried in the depth of the earth, in the darkness of separation, nurturing the reconciliation of our sin. He was buried and He bore and He bought our redemption. What Jesus accomplished in the dirt and in the dark, buried on our behalf, bought life for you and me.

The seeds of sin separate. No matter what, there is separation caused by sin. It creates barriers between us and others, between us and our own self, between us and God. It truly separated Jesus from His Father, while the Father had no other option than to turn His back on the Son, as Jesus took the weight of our sin on His own self. He did so willingly, however, to purchase eternity for you and me; to conquer death and the grave, to arrest the keys to Hades from the enemy forever, to overcome.

That’s what makes it so ridiculous that you and I wrestle with all we wrestle with, all that has been overcome already. It comes down to weeding out anything and everything which will never bear any fruit, weeding out all that stands between us and the Father, weeding out sin which separates. In so doing, we create bare space, raw land, to which we can tule the earth, cultivate the ground, fertilize the dirt, to plant sustainable crops: crops such as love and understanding, mercy and grace, forgiveness and hope, obedience and trust, faithfulness and forbearance, stewardship and discipleship. Seeds for future growth. Seeds planted in light of forever.

Revelation 1:17-18, ‘And when I saw Him, I fainted dead at His feet. His right hand pulled me upright, His voice reassured me: “Don’t fear: I am First, I am Last, I am Alive. I died, but I came to life, and my life is now forever. See these keys in My hand? They open and lock Death’s door; they open and lock Hell’s gates.”’

One of the greatest things you and I can ever do is BLOOM where we are PLANTED. Beautiful things grow from the fertile soil of a willing heart.
