Love Your Neighbor Challenge — Day 18

Love can cause you to blow your own mind.

We’ve all heard how adrenaline can cause someone to do superhuman acts, like a mother who lifts a car off a toddler. These are acts that under regular circumstances would never happen.

Love can also inspire us to take action that we’d never take under other circumstances. It can inspire a quiet person to speak up on behalf of the oppressed. It can inspire a follower to lead, to start organizations, volunteer at soup kitchens, hold conversations with strangers in need, or give our lunch away. My aunt shared that at one point she was desperate and down to her last $20 bill, when she saw a man digging through trash for his food. Seeing his need made her feel rich. It inspired her to give that last $20 to him.
