Mysterious

Mysterious
He is the God of the impossible
He wrote His Word on tablets of stone made human on hearts of flesh
He forged a highway through a sea built of walls of water and dry ground
He came not as a force but as a whisper
He supplies the sacrifice on the altar of the willing
He replenished empty jars with an overabundance of oil and empty jars lacking wine
He filled empty wombs woeful of their barrenness and an empty jug in need of living water
He breaks the silence and the reed and the curse with His extravagant love
He honored His prophecy and sent the infinite as an infant wrapped in a cloud, through a teenage virgin whose willingness birthed Wonderful Counselor, Everlasting Father, Almighty God, Prince of Peace
He fulfilled empty promises desperate for hope
He used unlikely common and ordinary people like me to fulfill likely uncommon and far from ordinary purposes
He shone through fractured jars of clay with His light where the brokenness within could pour out hope, so nothing, even the damaged, is wasted
He fed the multitude, starved by their not enough, with a little boy’s lunch and the promise of His word
He supplied a resurrection hope awaiting a best friend’s late arrival because of His great love and left behind a barren tree and an empty tomb for mankind in need of a Savior
He stood in the gap where not one was found
He hoped and I became
He drew me with a pen filled with the ink of an everlasting love and an eraser of forgiveness
He the wrote my forgiveness on His palm and signed it with His blood
He made boundary lines for me to fall in pleasant places
He has given the fullest of life in the emptiest of places
He buried my generation curses in the wounds on His hands where the nailprints had been, absolving, healing, redemptive
He speaks still today
He keeps every promise He has ever spoken to you
He kept every word He has uttered to me
He is Rescuer and Healer, the Defender of my soul and the Lifter of my head
He redeems what the enemy has stolen
Surely, He is in this place
He breaks chains and sets captives like me free
If you don’t know Him, you need to; you have to. Your future depends on…Him
He alone is worthy
He is the God of the impossible
Mysterious.
