I once thought these things were valuable, but now consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Philippians 3:7 (NLT)

This little gem fell from the treasure box unexpectedly. It took me a bit to see its shine, but eventually the beauty of its luster brightened my soul.

There are many things we hold onto because of the value we think that it may possess. We stash trinkets and jewelry in hopes of their value increasing as we call them heirlooms. We box up items that we think will increase in value so much that we can sell them for a trip to the Bahamas. All the while, we fail to see that the things that hold the most value are not in those boxes. They can’t be sold nor can they be replaced. Each of these are different for each of us. The are not able to be duplicated or eradicated. The simply are us!!

You see the very thing that Paul finds valuable is the very thing that he preached about for so many years. Salvation and his relationship with Jesus. Before he was an apostle, Paul held value in monetary things like most Pharisees did. He found richness in the gold and fancy clothes. But once he knew Jesus and experienced salvation, he began to realize that nothing he can touch or see is more valuable than the love of Christ and the salvation of the cross.

LadyBug you already own the most valuable thing available to man. A relationship with God and the love that Jesus has for us. There is no amount of money that will cover the cost of the Cross.

Let us store away the treasures of God and His word in hopes of redeeming their value at the gates of Heaven.

Much Love,
