O, Say Can You See?

Jeremiah 29:13-14, ‘”When you come looking for Me, you will find Me. Yes, when you get serious about finding Me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you. I’ll bring you back from all the countries into which I drove you,”—God’s Decree—“bring you home to the place from which I sent you into exile. You can count on it. (You can count on me).”’ (MSG)

Today we are going to do some SpringCleaning with our sight. But not just our eyesight but also our insight. I don’t know about you, but I am constantly having to clean up all the ‘eye snot’ from the corners of my eyes. This season has also found me very exhausted, fatigued, wiped out. I am getting plenty of sleep, but I think it is outward light sleep, not inward deep sleep; so my eyes feel like there is a child’s sandbox or a kitty litter container in each one. In addition, there is a lot of leakage from my eyes these days. I am a very sensitive person and also my heart is worn on the outside of my chest so I am easily moved. These times lately are treacherous, and yet we have a tremendous God, so in the midst of the treachery, I am constantly staggered by His goodness and His realness and His ability to present Himself in every situation I face.

I haven’t always looked through the eyes of a daughter of the Most High God. I walked in the world and I was fascinated by the world and I became the world. So my spiritual eyesight was blinded by the glitter and glamour of this world and all it offered. The day He began to remove the scales from my eyes was a day I will never forget nor one I can describe justly. And because of that day, there is no shadow upon my doubt that He was found by me when I sought Him with my spiritual eyes, those nestled in my heart that have His 20/20 vision.
I really want you to see Him clearly too, and I recommend, if you haven’t already, remove the blinders which keep you unaware of His precious love, that obstructs you from seeing the grace-filled face of your Father, that blocks the view of your spiritual eyesight like mine.

See, we don’t live in a rose-colored world but when we look through those lenses instead of seeing ourselves through the lens of the One Who gave His life for us, we only glance at a false reality. We search in a world for something that will never satisfy instead of seeing the hope Christ died for us to receive. All it takes is stripping away the veil so we can gaze with perfect vision, insight, in His eyes as they mirror His extravagant love for you and for me.

Come with me in March and let’s clean house!
If you are anything like me, you have kept some things around far too long
and now they got to go! And with the Lord’s help, they can!
