Easter Worship

What makes “Easter” worship any different than “normal” worship?

We all have our favourite Easter themed compositions. It’s hard to decide which version of “Easter Song” we are going to post on social media. 2nd Chapter of Acts or Keith Green? Whose rendition of “Resurrection Song” are we going to post? Kari Jobe or Jenn Johnson?

The truth is there is NO difference between “Easter” worship and worship any other time of the year.

All the songs we sing, whether specifically saying it or not reflect the fact that we are worshiping a resurrected Christ! If he had not risen from the dead, we would not be having church, much less singing about Jesus and the power of God.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” 1 Peter 1:3

I love it that every year around this time there are new songs being written by people who are in love with Jesus and inspired to sing about His amazing grace, love, sacrifice and POWER OVER THE GRAVE!

As we celebrate Easter in 2022 let’s forget about all the nonsense going on around us and let’s focus on our RISEN KING, who gives us all the hope we need and the ability to say that regardless of the circumstances, my spirit that once was dead is now ALIVE because Jesus is alive!

Father, thank you for sending your son to live and die in our place, for forgiving our sins and for rising from the dead to make us whole in every way! We live to love and serve you! Let your power be manifested here on earth as it is in heaven!
