Cyndi Kay GreenToday's Hope

August 27, 2020

Back to the prophets of the Old Testament for today’s hope. Back to the time of destruction and warnings. You ask how could we possibly find hope in those things? Well, in the book of Joel chapter 1, we see various plagues and pests come against the children of Israel. As I read this Chapter, God began to show me that we have allowed many plagues and pests to rot away the vine that keeps us connected to the vineyard. By slacking in the sharing of the true Gospel, we are allowing the rottenness of the world to eat away at our roots. We are letting the Word of God get watered down because we don’t want to offend anyone. He also showed me that even though we are productive, our offering is tainted with obligation rather than obedience and love.

It is time for us to be encouraged with hope so we may share God’s truth. We can find encouragement not only in His Word but by interceding for this nation and world. We have to pray for the healing of the wounds that have been caused by the lack of speaking truth.

We are a hurting nation. Our children are disappearing, our law enforcement is under attack, we are becoming stuck in the pigsty of judgment, and we are watching senseless violence destroy the very heart of our nation.

LadyBug take heart. The war is not over, and we know who wins. The pests are not to big for God. He can and will heal our land. But follow me here sister, it’s not just about our nation or home; on the contrary, it is about our heart. We have let the rottenness of unforgiveness take up space in our hearts and suffocate the life-giving fruit of our spirit. He will remove all the rottenness when we grab His truth.

Let us cut away the rotten fruit that has been destroyed by the pests and cultivate fresh life-giving fruit through the Holy Spirit.
