Day 6 – Fit For Life Challenge

It’s Day 6. The sky is blue and birds are chirping..it feels so peaceful. It’s hard to believe the unrest that’s going on in our world. There is so much division, hate, anger and hurt.

I want to talk real quick about Rest.. rest in the middle of the unrest.
Mark 4:35-41 tells us about a time when Jesus and his disciples were in a boat out in the middle of the sea. A huge storm blew up and the waves were beating into the boat, almost filling it up with water. The wind was blowing terribly. The disciples were so scared . Do you know what Jesus was doing while this storm was going on? He was sleeping! The disciples woke him up and said, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” Jesus got up and spoke to the sea.. yes he spoke to the sea! And he said, “Peace be still!” The storm stopped! Jesus asked them why they were so fearful. He asked them, “How is it that you have no faith?” They couldn’t believe their eyes! He spoke to the sea and the storm stopped! They had walked along beside Jesus, seeing His miracles, but yet they still marveled at this!
Our country, even the world, feels as if it’s in a storm. If you’re like me, you get scared and worried. What’s going to happen next? But then I read this story of what Jesus was doing during the storm! He was resting. Of course he cared, but he knew who was in control! We can know that too! We can lean into Him and lean into His word! When storms are going on around you and even in you, we can know that He can say peace be still! We can fully trust in Him! Jesus is the answer! Jesus is the cure! As you watch what’s going on in the world, remember He is control and we can enter into His rest knowing that! He is the answer!!

Action Step 6👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
Getting a good night’s sleep, restful sleep, is so important to our health. Studies have shown that getting the proper amount of sleep improves your immune system, helps you maintain a healthy weight, lowers your risk of serious health problems, improves mood, reduces stress and helps you think more clearly. It’s important to have a nightly bedtime routine and try to stay on a regular schedule. This will help you sleep better at night. Get plenty of exercise each day and avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. Rest is good friends! ❤️🙏🏻☀️
