All too often we seek to promote ourselves to have better jobs, cars, homes, and anything else that “we” think success looks like. We go to college and pursue a degree that will bring us prestige among our family and friends. The we get the “right” job and after all of that, we area still trying to get man’s affirmation and approval by chasing the promotion. Not that promotion is bad, but when we strive to see the affirmation of value in man’s eyes then we lose out on the promotion that God has been waiting to give.
To really experience the good life and enjoy the blessing of being promoted, maybe we just need to stop forcing it from our end and just let God handle the promotion. I mean after all; He will put you in the place that will be so much better than anything we could ever choose. He will promote us to the places that will bless us spiritually not just physically. It’s always sweeter to let God promote us to those places we are needed. It’s not about where we need to be successful in man’s eyes, but rather, where we need to be in order to be a successful blessing to those in need.
