We think of being caught up in ourselves as vanity. However, in reality, we are just trying to get ourselves to a “right” place for God. We try to make ourselves acceptable so that we can feel like we are worthy to be used for His Glory. We try to make ourselves out to be the model Christian by talking about how much we study or how much we give to others that we get lost in the appearance. By do this, we miss the relationship with Jesus.
But honestly, we are already usable. He knows our scars before we do and he knows the issues we face before we face them. He already knows the beauty we have in our hearts, yet we are fixated on the outside. This is when we overshadow the righteousness that comes only from the grace of God. It is through this righteousness that we are found worthy and usable. Not of our own doings, but because of His grace and love.
Don’t get lost in the person you think you need to be. Instead LadyBug, get lost in His Love and Grace. Let him define your worthy and be your beauty!!
