Spring Fashion 2023

Spring has already sprung in the fashion world. I’m going to highlight a few of the trends that you are already seeing or will be seeing soon. Here is what you can expect for spring fashion trends for 2023: baggie jeans, super-sized blazers, maxi skirts, sheer articles of clothing, drop-waisted skirts and dresses, as well as bubble skirts, and sequins to the max.

Fashion week took place this last month in New York City and several other cities and countries. This is where the top brands and designers showcase their upcoming designs. It is where you can expect to see the trends that will hit the shelves, and what you will be seeing and wearing in the following season.

From the showcases and even following the trends of years past the style of jeans is becoming more loose fit. We are moving away from the skinny jeans style quickly and more towards the dad jeans style or mom jeans style. This is a trend that you can see more so among generation Z. They have really embraced this trend and their baggie jeans often have large holes all over the legs. Personally, every style of jeans is not for every person. There are certain body types that look good with certain styles of jeans. And the biggest advice I can give you is to try on several different styles of jeans and find what you feel the most comfortable in and what you enjoy wearing the most. And when those jeans are in style, buy as many of them as you can, and just stock up because the styles go in and out of season all the time. I personally love the style of skinny jeans for myself. So I have a ton of skinny jeans and that’s what I tend to wear more than anything else.

Skirts also seem to be a big theme for the spring. There are several different kinds of skirts that are going to be making their big appearance and one of those styles is the maxi skirt. So the long, flowing skirts that you have in the back of your closet are back in style ladies. Pull those out and get them ready to wear all spring long.

Also, the bubble skirt is trending again. This one has been gone for a while.

The bubble skirt is a skirt that just kind of flares out or poofs out a little, like a bubble. They normally come right above the knee and it just gives some extra dimension to your outfit. Also, we are seeing the bubble skirt on dresses. So the top of the dress is more fitted, and then the skirt will bubble out. And like I said these are for the shorter style of dresses and skirts not for long or maxi length dresses or skirts.

For several years now we have been seeing higher-waisted dresses and tops. But it appears to be that the waistline of these is dropping to the hips or right above the hips. For a while, we have been seeing it hit under the bust or at the midsection of the waist. This is going to help elongate your waist. It can be very flattering, but once again approach this trend with caution. Definitely try different styles and see what you like best with your body type.

Sheer articles of clothing are also in style and trending again. They seem to come back around every spring and last through the summer. This means all kinds of shirts, dresses, tops all kinds of articles of clothing that you normally wear will be sold sheer without any underlining. The style is to wear your bra under it or nothing at all. But as Godly and modest women, we know that doing so only causes our brothers in the Lord to stumble. Please wear a cami or something beneath it. These guys are having a hard enough time as it is.

A few more trends that you will see this spring are oversized blazers for the professional wardrobe. I love me some blazers but I am not really into this baggie and oversized trend. Also, sequins have made it back this season. What I mean is sequins to the max – covering every part of a garment. So prepare to sparkle and shine, ladies.

These are just a few of the trends we can expect to see this spring. There is no right or wrong when it comes to finding your style. Try out the different trends and keep the ones that you love and that help complement your body type.
